Common questions
Is PoppiPay a bank?
No. PoppiPay is not a bank and does not take deposits as a bank. Virtual cards and custody are services of licensed partners. This public demo moves test money only.
Do I have to verify my identity?
Yes. Registration is open to the listed countries, but deposits and card loads wait until identity verification is approved. PoppiPay does not offer anonymous accounts.
Where can I move money?
The Netherlands is the only open market. The United Arab Emirates and Morocco can register and are gated. Every other listed country can create an account and cannot move money.
Which assets are accepted?
Striga rails are USDC on Ethereum, Polygon, and Solana. The demo also accepts USDT on Ethereum and Tron. Bitcoin, native ether, native SOL, TON, and BEP20 are not accepted.
How does the loading fee work?
You choose the card credit. The fee is that credit times your tier rate, rounded half up. At 5%, $100 on the card costs a $5 fee, so the wallet debit is $105. The fee is not subtracted from the credit you asked for.
What does a $100 load cost?
At the 5% tier, $100 of card credit has a $5 loading fee. The wallet debit is $105. A brand-new card adds a separate $10 issue fee, so that first debit is $115.
When is the $10 charged?
Once, for each newly issued card. Later top-ups of that card pay only the loading fee. A retry after a failed issue does not charge a second $10.
Can the rate go back up?
Yes. The tier uses successful card credit in the previous 30 days, measured before the load you are quoting. If that volume falls, the rate can rise. One load is never split across two tiers.
Is there a monthly fee or a minimum load?
The monthly fee is $0. The smallest card credit is $25. Network fees charged by the chain are separate and are not a PoppiPay fee.
How is the $10 shown on a euro card?
Striga cards spend a linked euro account. The $10 policy amount is converted with the locked USDCEUR sell rate and shown in euros. USDCEUR is a USDC/EUR proxy, not an exact USD/EUR rate. It is not labeled as dollars on that card.
Can I send money to a friend?
No. You send crypto to your own deposit address. PoppiPay does not transfer a balance to another person.
Can PoppiPay collect payments for my business?
No. There is no invoice product and no way for a buyer to pay you without an account of their own. The only inbound payment is a crypto deposit to your address after verification.
Does Apple Pay or Google Pay work?
Not as push provisioning. Wallet enrollment stays manual until the card programme enables it. Do not plan a launch on mobile wallets being live.
Who creates the deposit address?
The custody partner returns a blockchain deposit address for an approved network. PoppiPay does not derive an address from a hash. Striga mode does not sweep funds into an omnibus wallet.
